Haar ouders waren in 1877 in Goes getrouwd. Hier werden ook de eerste vier kinderen uit hun huwelijk geboren. Na korte tijd in Den Haag gewoond te hebben, kwamen zij terug naar Zeeland. In 1899 werd hun jongste dochter, Elisabeth in Middelburg geboren. Aaron Frank overleed in 1927 in Vlissingen, moeder Ester Koekoek tien jaar later in 1937 in Middelburg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Over het leven van hun dochter Mietje is nauwelijks iets te vinden. Uit de Middelburgse adresboekjes blijkt dat zij van 1937 tot 1940 op Seisstraat 32 woonde. Kort voor het uitbreken van de oorlog moet zij verhuisd zijn naar de Blindenhoek. In mei 1940 bood zij hier na de verwoesting van de stad onderdak aan het gezin van haar jongste zusje Elisabeth. Toen Hendrik Cozijn en zijn echtgenote Elisabeth Frank enkele dagen na de brand naar Middelburg waren teruggekeerd, hadden zij moeten constateren dat er van hun winkel in ijzerwaren met bovenliggend woonhuis in de Lange Delft niets meer over was. Tot een nieuw onderkomen gevonden werd, woonden zij bij tante Mietje in de Blindenhoek.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Samen met alle andere Joodse inwoners van Middelburg werd Mietje op 24 maart 1942 gedwongen de stad te verlaten. Ze woonde in Amsterdam nog even in het huis Vrolikstraat 301.
