Philip Isaac van Dam, geboren 22 mei 1912 te Rotterdam, zijn vrouw Henriette van Dam \u2013 Polak, geboren 6 april 1013 te Middelburg en hun zoontje Abraham van Dam, geboren 31 oktober 1935 te Sint Laurens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Over het gezin van Dam is weinig bekend. De eerste melding in het adresboekje van de gemeente Middelburg is in 1942, het jaar van hun verplichte deportatie. In 1938 woonde het gezin nog aan de Noordweg. Het huwelijk tussen Philip en Henriette vond plaats op 14 november 1934 in Koudekerke. Als beroep voor Philip staat vermeld: koopman<a href=\"https:\/\/ettyhillesumhuis.nl\/2016\/11\/07\/het-gezin-van-dam\/#_ftn1\">[1]<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Philip Isaac van Dam is een zoon van Abraham van Dam en Emma Goldstein. Hij is vermoord in Auschwitz, 31 december 1942. Hij bereikte de leeftijd van 30 jaar. Philip had een oudere broer, Samuel, en een jongere zuster, Duifje van Haren-van Dam die allebei de oorlog overleefd hebben en na de oorlog naar British Columbia in Canada verhuisd zijn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Henriette van Dam-Polak is een dochter van Lion Polak en Sara Braasem. Zij bereikte de leeftijd van 30 jaar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hun zoontje Abraham van Dam is samen met zijn moeder &nbsp;vermoord in Auschwitz, 31 december 1942. Hij bereikte de leeftijd van 6 jaar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ze was de zus van Mouritz, Mozes en Simon Polak. De oudste twee broers hebben de oorlog overleefd. Mouritz is overleden in Amerika, Los Angeles in 1972, Mozes in Middelburg in 1965. Simon is vermoord in Auschwitz, 21 september 1943.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mozes neemt met zijn broer Mouritz in 1920 zaak van zijn vader, handel in lompen, over. De zaak bleef na WOII in Middelburg, en groeide uit van 33 man in 1946, tot 123 in 1951 en 600 in 1968. Polak Recycling is dan het grootste bedrijf van Nederland in de metaalsector.
