Etty Hillesum Exchange

Het Etty Hillesum Huis en de Poetry Practice (Canterbury, United Kingdom) organiseren in het voorjaar van 2023 een uitwisselingsproject over het belang van Etty Hillesum voor toekomstige generaties, in een geest die vrede boven oorlog verkiest, liefde boven haat en menselijke waardigheid boven vernedering. Het project bestaat uit een Etty Hillesum Dag in Canterbury op 24 februari voor scholieren en studenten, en een avond met sprekers Klaas Smelik en Rowan Williams. Op 21 april lanceert het Etty Hillesum Huis onsite en online een set Engelstalige educatieve materialen, waarmee wereldwijd het voorbeeld van Etty tot leven kan worden gebracht voor jonge mensen. De samenwerking van Canterbury en Middelburg is een Straits Committee Small Project Initiative, met co-financiering door Kent County Council en Provincie Zeeland.

The Etty Hillesum Huis and the Poetry Practice (Canterbury, United Kingdom) are organizing an exchange project in spring 2023 on the importance of Etty Hillesum for future generations, in a spirit that prefers peace to war, love to hate and human dignity to humiliation. The project consists of an Etty Hillesum Day in Canterbury on February 24 for schoolchildren and students, and an evening with speakers Klaas Smelik and Rowan Williams. On April 21, the Etty Hillesum House will launch onsite and online a set of English-language educational materials, bringing Etty’s example to life for young people worldwide. The Canterbury and Middelburg collaboration is a Straits Committee Small Project Initiative, co-funded by Kent County Council and Provincie Zeeland.
